Termites: The Silent Destroyers

Termites are small, social insects that live in colonies and feed on cellulose found in wood and plant matter. Often called “silent destroyers,” they can cause significant structural damage to homes, furniture, and commercial buildings — often without immediate signs.

Signs of Termite Infestation

  • Hollow-sounding wood when tapped

  • Mud tubes on walls or foundations

  • Discarded wings near windows or doors

  • Blistered or peeling paint (mimics water damage)

  • Visible mazes or tunnels in wood

How to Prevent Termite Infestations

  • Keep your surroundings dry and well-ventilated

  • Fix leaky pipes and roof tiles

  • Remove dead wood or tree stumps near structures

  • Seal cracks and gaps in the foundation

  • Regular termite inspections (especially in risk-prone areas)
